For people who don't know a lot about depression, they know some of the most common symptoms. We all know depression causes sadness, a lack of motivation, hopelessness, etc. However, there are other symptoms that people don't know as much about. Here are a few:
1. Harder To Maintain Friendships
Unfortunately, depression can affect your friendships. If you are negative all of the time, people may get tired of it. Depression also saps your motivation, so you may not want to go out and do things.

2. Harder To Notice Good Things
Depression is like a dark film over your psyche. It can make good things seem out of reach. It can cause you to not notice when small good things happen.

3. Losing/Gaining Weight
Unfortunately, many anti-depressants cause weight gain. Additionally, depression itself can affect your appetite. Some people will not want to eat. Others may eat too much and eat junk food.
4. Changes In Sleep Patterns
You may either sleep too much or not be able to sleep at all. Everyone is different. Some psychotropic medicines can cause sleep issues as well.

5. Worrying/Thinking Too Much
The negativity eating at your brain may also make you worry. Also, many people who suffer from depression also have anxiety issues. Either way, you may over-worry when you are depressed. Keep that in mind when making big decisions.
6. Physical Pain
You may experience more headaches or muscle aches or other pains. The depression can cause physical symptoms. Pain and depression can be caused by similar brain chemicals.
